About Us

Shelby studied (undergrad and masters) Animal Science at Washington State University with a focus on animal nutrition. Shelby has many years of experience in the veterinary industry, and recently left Zoetis, the largest Animal Pharmaceutical company in the world. In her spare time, Shelby breeds and trains Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Shelby trains all of her own dogs, and titles them in AKC Conformation, Obedience, Rally, Agility, Retriever Hunt Tests and Spaniel (Upland) Hunt Tests. 

 

Cody grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington, surrounded by livestock and hunting dogs. He is an avid hunter, and a CPA CFA by profession. Cody serves as "the best dog dad ever" and is infinitely patient with Shelbys love of animals.

Together, Shelby & Cody started Kookaburra Creek Farm. Kookaburra's are a native Australian bird known for their infections laugh and loyalty. Shelby's brother was the inspiration behind the name. 

 

 Both Shelby and Cody work from home, so someone is always home with the dogs.
